How We Met
Sometimes, things just work out.
It all started when Jon’s neighbor - who happened to be Becca’s paraprofessional in her teaching days - was helping Becca and her teaching partner decorate their classrooms for the upcoming year. When Becca saw Susan stapling scuba diver cutouts to the other teacher’s wall, she asked Susan to put one up for her, because she loves diving - even though she doesn’t go as often as she’d like.
Then Susan had an idea.
Becca was single. She loves diving, dinosaurs, and whiskey. Jon was single. He also loves diving, dinosaurs, and whiskey. It seemed like the perfect match. So Susan set the gears in motion.
And while it took Jon two whole weeks to message Becca, and even though Becca couldn’t go on a date with him right away, they talked - a lot - over the next week, and set their first date for Saturday, August 31.
After that date, they became inseparable. They became a couple, then they became a family, and now they will become husband and wife.
About Becca
Born in Missouri in the early ’80s, Becca is a snowbird at heart. She moved to Louisiana when she was five and worked on her southern drawl. Even though she had planned on moving back to Louisiana as soon as she was able, she has been in Florida since 1992. And boy, is she glad she stayed.
Becca has two boys: Ben, who is 14, and Dean, 11. They’re cool kids - Ben knows all of the baseball facts, while Dean is a reader with a penchant for doing voices.
She is a copy editor in the Marketing department at Publix. In her spare time, Becca reads, crafts, and gardens. Becca wants to be a beekeeper one day, but the thought makes her kind of nervous.
Becca has two older brothers. Her parents are incredible people, and they taught her to do what’s right, to follow her heart, and to never give up on what’s important.

About Jon
Born in Florida in the early ’80s, Jon has a sense of adventure and wanderlust. While he has moved around Florida a little, he’s one of the few people here who can actually say that they’re a Tampa native. That said, he will whisk Becca away to a colder state as soon as he can.
Jon is a digital marketing manager wizard at Zilliant and a pro at spreadsheets. In his spare time, Jon develops websites (like this one), plays video games, and builds things.
He is the eldest of his siblings, with two younger sisters and a brother. His family is warm, kind, and welcoming. They obviously rubbed off on Jon a lot.

The Proposal
After being a couple for nearly three years, Jon and Becca were ready to take the next step. They already considered themselves family, so it was time to make it legal.
During their family trip to Montana, Jon just needed to find the perfect spot to propose. At the Museum of the Rockies? No, too crowded. Digging for dinosaur bones? No, too dirty. Hiking to a waterfall at Glacier National Park? Perfect.
Jon found a secluded spot in a cranny beside a rushing waterfall. As Becca turned around to move on after one last look, she found Jon on one knee with a ring. He asked, she answered, and here we are today.
